Finally back in New York....

After spending 10 days in California with my family and boyfriend for the holidays and another 9 days in Ohio for WSC, I am finally back in Manhattan. Christmas in California was wonderful. I saw so many high school, AIESEC, and even grade school friends that I haven't seen in a long time. I had four fuzzies to scratch and cuddle with. (Michi and Medias are my parent's cats and Mimi and BurBur are my boyfriends cats.) The only downer was all the rain. It was wet pretty much everyday!!! (WTF mate?)

It feels a little weird to be back in New York. I feel at home because everything is familiar, but lonely because I still know so few people. I was very worried to return to my office because of all the work that would be inevitably stacked up on my desk. The stack was definitely there, but the first thing I noticed was a pretty scarf Farid had brought back from Egypt for me. (Thank you Farid -- It is beautiful!!!) The scarf was a very pleasant surprise.

The holiday season is over here in New York. You can tell because there are large bunches of Christmas trees stacked up on the sidewalks. Every so often you see one with a few ornaments on them. I guess those people aren't very sentimental.

Well, I'm heading into the office today for a few hours to work on all the emails that have been building up over the past few weeks. I'm hoping to go out with Farid tonight (and maybe Ali if he answers my text message!)

P.S. Remember that on the 8th the postal service is increasing the rate from $0.37 to $0.39.....
